No need for booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine: SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav
Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav on Wednesday alleged there is no need for booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine, adding this is just an extra burden on the government exchequer. Yadav’s remarks came during the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha. Citing the statement of an Additional Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Yadav said the officer clearly said “no need for booster dose” of COVID-19 vaccine when he was asked by our members in presence of the Health Secretary and Director General of ICMR.
The fifth submarine of Project 75, Yard 11879, Indian Navy’s Kalvari class commenced her sea trials on 1st Feb.The submarine was launched in Nov ’20 from the KanhojiAngre Wet Basin of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL). The submarine would be named Vagir, after commissioning. The submarine will now undergo intense trials of all its systems at sea, including propulsion systems, weapons and sensors. The submarine is scheduled for delivery to the Indian Navy in the year 2022 after the completion of these trials.

The Indian equities markets continued winning run for the third straight day on Wednesday as key indices Sensex and Nifty closed with a gain of over 1 per cent led by strong buying support in financial and IT stocks. The 30 stock S&P BSE Sensex closed at 59,558.33 points, which is 695.76 points or 1.18 per cent higher when compared with its previous day’s close at 58,862.57 points.
