After many users complained of issues while accessing the I-T portal and reported that it was hacked on Tuesday, which also happens to be the first launch anniversary of the portal, the department said Infosys is resolving the issue on priority.
“Issue relating to the search functionality of the e-filing website has come to our notice. The Income Tax Department is seized of the matter. @Infosys has been directed to look into it & @Infosys has confirmed that they are resolving the issue on priority,” the I-T department tweeted.
The finance ministry officials also assured that there has been no data breach on the portal. Incidentally, Tuesday is the first anniversary of the launch of new Income Tax portal.
In the past year, the portal functioning was marred on several occasions which prompted the government to extend due date of filing tax returns and related forms for all taxpayers.

ED conducts search operation at premises of Satyendar Jain and others involved in money laundering case
- Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has conducted a search operation on June 6 under PMLA, 2002 at the premises of Satyendar Kumar Jain, Poonam Jain, and his accomplices and other people who had either directly or indirectly assisted him or participated in the processes of money laundering.
- Investigation revealed that one accomplice member of Lala Sher Singh Jivan Vigyan Trust had provided accommodation entries for transfer of land from a company beneficially owned by Satyendar Kumar Jain to family members of accomplices in order to alienate the property and to frustrate the process of confiscation.
- During the search various incriminating documents and digital records were seized. The cash amounting to Rs 2.85 Crore and 133 gold coins weighing 1.80 kg in total from unexplained source were found to be secreted in the said premises and were seized under PMLA.
Ministry of Power and New and Renewable Energy issues notification for Green Open Access Rules 2022
- Ministry of Power and New and Renewable Energy said, “In order to further accelerate our ambitious renewable energy programs, with the end goal of ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable & green energy for all, Green Open Access Rules, 2022 have been notified on June 6.”
- Notified rules enable simplified procedure for open access to green power. It’ll enable faster approval of Green OA, uniform banking, voluntary purchase of RE power by commercial and industrial consumers, applicability of OA charges.
- Commercial and industrial consumers are allowed to purchase green power on voluntary basis. Captive consumers can take power under Green Open Access with no minimum limit. Discom Consumers can demand the supply of Green power to them.
Panchayat by-poll for 131 seats in Arunachal on July 12
The Arunachal Pradesh State Election Commission on Tuesday announced by-poll to 130 gram panchayat seats along with one zila parishad seat on July 12. Election to 40 gram panchayat seats and one in zila parishad in Vijoynagar administrative sub-division under Changlang district have, however, been kept pending due to law and order and other administrative issues, State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen told media persons. Kojeen said that 11 seats have been excluded from the election process due to court cases pending before the Election Tribunal and Itanagar bench of Gauhati High Court.

13 fresh Covid-19 cases in Odisha
Odisha’s Covid-19 tally rose to 12,88,530 on Tuesday as 13 more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.
