Amid the festivities, to mark Balipratipada, the fourth day of Diwali, the stock market will be closed for trading on Wednesday.
The currency market will also be shut while the commodities market will be closed during the morning session i.e. 9 am to 5 pm but will operate during the evening session — 5-11:30 pm.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, given the mixed global cues, the benchmark indices declined in trade, with Nifty ending the session lower by 75 points at 17,656. Broader markets, however, outperformed the headline indices. Sectorally, Nifty PSU Bank hogged the limelight, gaining more than 3%, whereas Nifty Financial Services, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Realty, Nifty Private Bank and Nifty Media ended in the red.
